Maltus Faber was born in 2005 as a homebrewing hobby. As passion and curiosity were taking over, Fausto decided to contact a Cultural Association where a pilot production system was built. As a result, several batches were produced to be consumed within the association. During some national events, aimed to spread the culture of homebrewing and craft beer, our beers were noticed from professional tasters who pointed out the constant improvement in quality, judging the beers up to the level of the best commercial craft products available on the market. Therefore, Maltus Faber walked the canonical steps backwards, starting its adventure on the italian craft beer market with already well tuned and devoloped recipes and products. The LocationMaltus Faber is located in Via Fegino 3, a historical address for brewing in Genoa as in early '900 it hosted Cervisia brewing company, which was then acquired by the Dreher group and lastly dismantled from Heineken group. An interesting fact is that, during the Dreher-era, the same location hosted an actual brewing school. ![]() Maltus Faber hosts a permanent exhibition of historical pieces of the Cervisia-era, such as bottles, tops, glasses, pictures, books and advertisings from those days when the site itself was a symbol for brewing in Genoa.
